Christmas miracles are rarely caused by traffic accidents, but that's just what happened this Christmas Eve in Anchorage, Alaska. Bean’s Cafe and Children’s Lunchbox, a local soup kitchen, was worried. They now feed 700-800 people per day due to increased demand caused by the pandemic, and they were almost out of fresh produce, which is especially tough to get in the winter months.
Then, a semi slid into a ditch--a semi carrying 30,000 pounds of eggs, meat, and fresh produce. No one was injured in the accident, but the companies that were to receive the food decided they couldn't sell it. The folks at Vulcan Towing company saw an opportunity to make lemons out of lemonade, and delivered the entire 30,000 pounds of food to the soup kitchen. "It’s gonna help so many people,” said Bean's Cafe CEO Lisa Sauder. “It really is kind of a little bit of a Christmas miracle."
No word on what caused the accident, but there are rumors that a sleigh may be involved.
